This 2 day session will include an overnight camp in a remote tranquil setting where you can fully appreciate all that Ireland’s Mountains have to offer. During the course of the weekend you will have plenty of opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about the skills required to become completely self-sufficient in the Irish mountains.

Wild camping can be a real escape from the busy hussle and bustle we live in and Ireland has some magnificient places to explore and set up home for a night. Locations you thought only existed in far away places are really under your nose on this glorious Emerald Isle. All you need is someone with passion and experience to show you the way…If that sounds like your idea of a new adventure then this is the course for you!
What we Cover?
This course aims to take you away from the main tracks and trails and explore the mountains of Ireland at your own pace. We will then set up camp and spend the evening cooking and learning how to stay for short periods of time in a mountainous enviroment with a “leave no trace” policy. It will help you to develop a better understanding of our fragile mountainous enviroment and give you a real appreciation of what stunning scenery, wildlife, flaura and fauna we have in Ireland.
The course will generally be operating in Wicklow, Donegal, Connemara or the Mournes. During our 2 days out we will look at the following areas:
•Planning a mountain day
• Guidebooks and maps
•Clothing and equipment
•Basic camp craft
•The mountain enviroment
•Hazard management

Pre-Requisites: An interest in the mountain enviroment.
