Youth & Schools Sessions

Below you will find a list of our sessions and courses designed specifically for young people aged 12 and over. We are aware that Youth Organisations and schools have differing expectations in relation to participation in adventurous outdoor activities. For that reason we offer various activity options which we feel delivers programmes appropriate to the ability, experience and expectations of the end user. Don’t worry if you can’t see an activity that suits your needs, we are very flexible, and we can tailor a package to suit any number of people or length of time that works for you

Full adventure day

Full day’s activities on Dublin’s doorstep easily accessible by public transport. Your group can experience the thrill of rock climbing & abseiling, the competitiveness of orienteering and the excitement of our cave challenge all in a stunning location very close to Dublin city. This day is suitable for groups of around 30 and is very competitively priced. Ideal for your school outing or transition year. 10 mins walk from Dart station and busses.

Duration: 6 - 8 hours

Cost: €40 per person including all equipment hire

Location: Dublin Pre-Requisites: None.

Group Size: Minimum of 25.

Rock Climbing

Half days climbing, usually in Dalkey although we sometimes use other locations. Session includes briefing, explanation of equipment and techniques, climbing and abseiling and some great group craic.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: €100 for group of 6, €200 for 6-12, etc

Location: Dublin Pre-Requisites: None.

Orienteering

Designed by the Swedish military to challenge soldiers and teach them how to use a map. Groups compete against each other around a marked out course visiting pre placed markers along the way.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: €8 per student

Location: Dublin or Wicklow Pre-Requisites: None.

Group Size: Minimum of 12, no maximum

Gaisce

With our help your group’s Gaisce adventure journey can be a much safer and more enjoyable experience with even more adventure. We can also organize suitable accommodation for your group’s overnight stop.

Duration: 1 - 2 Days

Cost: from €30 per person per day

Location: Wicklow or other with prior arrangement Pre-Requisites: None.

Group Size: Minimum of 10.

Cave Challenge

An exciting activity in secret smugglers tunnels very close to Dublin city. Your group has to negotiate the passages, bridges and chambers while completing several group tasks along the way. Always great fun for groups who inevitably want to come back again. Suitable for 6 – 10 people.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: €200

Location: Dublin. Pre-Requisites: None.

Group Size: Up to 10

Camping

If you’re keen to try Hill Walking and would like to savour the joys of the Irish Mountains for a full weekend then why not let our qualified instructors take you on a journey you’re sure to enjoy. This 2 day journey will include an overnight camp in a remote tranquil setting where you can fully appreciate all that Ireland’s Mountains have to offer.

Duration: 2 days or more

Cost: €20 per person per day including all equipment hire.

Location: Wicklow. Pre-Requisites: None.

Group Size: Minimum of 10.

Survival Challenge

Usually a 3 day challenge with one overnight. First day we spend teaching your group how to navigate in the mountains using a map, this day can take place the day before or weeks before the overnight. Day 2 is the big challenge day. We leave your group somewhere in the mountains with only maps to find their way. They must navigate to their campsite collecting essential supplies along the way. (Instructors will follow the group at a distance to ensure safety) when they reach their campsite they must build their own shelters to sleep in and light a fire to cook dinner. Next day is a short hike back to civilisation.

Duration: 3 days

Cost: €20 per person per day including equipment hire
