Multi-Pitch Training
BOS / Mountaineering Ireland
MPA training and assessment is available to those who have gained the Single Pitch Award. Again this is a 2-day training course, followed by a 2-day assessment. Trainees must have led at least 15 multi-pitch routes graded Severe or above before attending training. This scheme introduces you to the techniques required to climb safely while supervising others in a multi-pitch situation.
Is it for you?
The Multi-Pitch Syllabus builds on the content of the SPA scheme and covers the skills required to lead 1 or 2 students in a multi-pitch climbing venue.
